Each week my daughter goes to a little children's book themed preschool class. This month I am hosting preschool and we are reading several of my favorite Halloween children's books and doing related crafts and activities.
I am a busy mom and don't have a huge amount of time to come up with fancy crafts or activities, so I love these simple preschool spider craft and activity ideas that were fun to do while also teaching simple learning concepts to the kids. I had almost all of the materials in our house already too. Low cost activities that keep kids happy are always my favorites!
Last week we read The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle and had a spider themed day at preschool!
Here are a few of the activities and crafts we had fun doing together...
First we made some playdough spiders using toothpicks, playdough, and googly eyes
The kiddos also made spider nests and added little plastic spiders to them. Creepy!
Next we glued together some little spider hats using black cardstock, white paper, and googly eyes. I cut out spider bodies and legs and the kids glued them together.
After their spider crafts dried, we stuck them to their little white headbands and they ran around the house wearing their spider hats!
We also covered out backyard trees with spider webs and mini plastic spiders. The kids had fun building their own webs just like the very busy spider.
For our last activity the kids made cocoa krispy spiders using candy googly eyes, pretzel sticks, and cocoa krispy balls. We got our project idea from these spider krispies from Cookies & Cups. Click through for the instructions. They sure were yummy!
The kids and I had fun reading The Very Busy Spider several times during class and we also sang "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" too.
Our spider themed preschool was a hit! Here are a few other spider crafts & activities that I really enjoy...

Wow!! I have found absolutely interesting ideas. I must it’s an excellent theme for preschool classes and that crispy spider cookies. I thought it would be great fun to feature crafty activities for kids. Thanks for sharing this enjoyable post.
