Inside this post I'm sharing a super simple handprint art activity I did with my toddler and preschooler class for Mother's Day! They thought this was so much fun to make special cards for their moms!
What's an easy handprint art project kids can make for Mother's Day?
These simple handprint painted cards are adorable and super easy to make with toddlers and preschoolers! Parents love getting a personalized handprint card along with a gift or special note. You could also make this for a teacher or grandparent!

Materials Needed:
The best part about this handprint art activity is that the set up is simple and you don't need very many materials!
- Heavy Cardstock Paper
- Markers
- Paper Plates (grab these at the Dollar Store)
- Washable paint
- (Optional) Craft trays
Handprint Art Instructions:
- Put a dollop of each color of washable paint on a paper plate. One per color of paint. We used yellow, pink, and purple paint.
- Fold the cardstock in half and crease it to make a card.
- Have kids draw lines at the bottom of their card to make several flower stems.
- Next, have the child place their hand (palm down) in one color of paint and move it around to cover the whole palm.
- Then have them place their hand on the card above the green "stems' to print their handprint "flower." Press hard to try and get the whole handprint onto the card.
- Repeat with additional colors of paint until the child has a bouquet of handprint "flowers" on their card.
