How to set up the sticky ball activity
This activity is SO EASY to set up!
- Grab your tape
- Cut off a big long piece of tape (as long as you want, we did ours about 5-6 ft)
- Attach the tape to two different things and let it hang down a little bit (not too low though!)
- Add another piece of tape (or two) if you want! I had two lines of tape available for my students to explore.

What does this ball activity teach kids?
Kids explore cause and effects as they stick the balls to the tape and shake the tape to knock them back down.
As they play, kids can try out patterning and explore colors as they stick the balls on the tape in different ways.
This ball activity teaches kids to have fun working together with a team and take turns as they play. They also work on their communication skills and social skills while they stick the balls on the tape.
Finally, kids get their whole bodies involved in learning and playing with this ball activity! They practice core stability, hand-eye coordination, bending over and picking things up, and they also build their visual skills too!
